About Millard Childcare and Preschool

Meet the Director

Ben Shoemaker is the director at Millard Childcare and Preschool. Having graduated from Creighton University, he has worked in childcare for 11 years. He grew up in a large family with a lot of kids, so he's always been around children.

Ben has been working in various areas of Millard Childcare and Preschool for the past 5 years. He loves watching the kids grow from infants to school-age children, and he looks forward to meeting you and your family in the future.

When he's not working at Millard Childcare and Preschool, Ben enjoys playing music with his band at weddings in the area. The band has played at over 70 weddings in the past 2 years.

Meet Our Assistant Director

My name is Miss Sara. I began working at MCP in 2013, and am currently the Assistant Director. Prior to that, I’ve been in the childcare field for 15 wonderful years. I am passionate about early childhood education and advocating for children and their families. I absolutely love my “job,” and found the direction I spent my life searching for. After a 17 year hiatus, I’m going back in the fall to finish my BA in Leadership, and then another goal is to get a Masters in an area involving Leadership and/or Childcare.

My home life is very very busy (and full of chaos…good chaos) with an infant daughter and helping raise 5 year old triplets to be responsible, polite, and to have a sense of fun and wonder! Honing in on their individual skills and helping them develop into kind kindergartners brings me immense joy.

My little daughter Paxton (born March 2017) has stolen my entire heart. The unconditional love I feel for her is what I know other parents see in their own children. I want to be a part of the growth of all these children. I know that with love, compassion, an open heart, with creative thinking, and care, that each child at MCP has the ability to thrive. I believe teaching and encouraging children to find unique ways to illustrate themselves facilitates comprehension, imagination, and literacy.
